The “Shik” word
Filed Under Christmas, Kids, laughter | 1 Comment
Yesterday I went to church with my sister in law to help her out with a lesson that she was teaching to the children. Durring the class time there was a super cute activity that the kids all did. She read a story about how a little girl gave a coupon to each member of the family to do a chore or something nice for each one. To follow the story we had a paper with “I will” written on the top of the page and “for you” on the bottom. Each child was then asked to draw a picture of something they wanted to do for a family member for Christmas. We would help them spell or write words as needed and when they were finished we would give them an envelope to put their gift in and then they decorated the outside.
One little boy was having a difficult time and asked me how to write “say” so we helped him out. Then out of curiosity, my sister asked “What are you going to do?” and he says “I’m going to say the SHIK word to my brother”. At first we were not really sure what he was trying to say, but when I heard him whisper to a classmate “That’s a bad word, right?” I knew what he was getting at! Needless to say, we had the opportunity to talk about saying nice things to the people we love and we helped him to change his gift to something more fitting for Christmas.

Everynight we have been saying prayers with the kids and recently Cookie has started saying, “Thank you for my body and for my heart” If she forgets to say thanks for her heart, she gets really upset too! Too cute!

On our way to Utah for my recovery time with my parents and Jefe’s family, our van had the unfortunate experience of breaking down. It was a great blessing that it was broken only about 1 mile away from my inlaws house after an entire 13 hour trip from Arizona. The problem? The transmission. We actually felt it go as we were sitting at a traffic light. Another blessing was that it was 3am becuase it is one of the most busy streets in thier town.
Superkid was asked what was wrong with the van a few days later by my brother in law and he said “The Van ran out of permission.” !! Too cute!

Anyone notice anything new?

I realize that I have been a slacker in blogging lately, but for a good reason? Anyone notice any new additions to the blog content? Perhaps in the sidebar?
Baby Boam #4 is on the way. Along with this joyous news, comes a bit of concern. I have a condition called Subcorionic Hemmorage. I was diagnosed with this at only 11 weeks after cramping and bleeding. Basically the placenta (what gives the baby nutrients, oxygen, etc.) is torn. They didn’t tell me how big of a tear, but it is enough that I have been limited in my activities.
So as of almost 3 weeks ago, I am not able to stand for long periods of time, and not able to lift anything over like 10 pounds. I am scheduled for another ultrasound around my 17th week to see if the tear has torn but I don’t know if I will be able to resume “normal” activites until after baby comes.
Have I been sick? YES! Hence the reason for no blogging. Today is an ok day and since it has been so long since a post, I decided I had better knuckle down and share the good news.
Official due date: June 13 - but taking into account that I always have my babies abour 21 days early, we are looking at Memorial Day weekend…..
