They really are listening

At the grocery store the other day in an act of sheer desperation, I told my son I was going to tie him up with a noodle.  I used a pretend noodle and pretended to wrap it around him in the hopes that his imagination would be working with me and keep him still and in the cart for 5 seconds.  Needless to say that it did not work.  He continued on his path of destruction.

Yesterday at church, my kids were going a little nutty so we went into one of the adjoining classrooms and were practicing how to act in the meeting.  I was trying to get my kids to sit in a chair quietly instead of yelling and wiggling.  My son was accomplishing this feat rather well, but my daughter was struggling a little.  My son then started waving his hand above her head.  Because he was still being quiet I didn’t say anything.  He finished and then announced that he had tied his sister up with a noodle.  It may not have worked for him, but at least I know he was listening!

Fire?

Filed Under Kids, Uncategorized, laughter | Leave a Comment

My sister (20 years old) is staying with us for a little while and the other day we were eating at a local restaurant and saw the firemen come in.  They were all fairly young and attractive, so we started talking about pick-up lines she could use on them that would be funny…not that she would ever actually use them…

Our favorite was “Help Me! I’m on Fire! (then lick your finger and touch it to yourself and make a sizzling sound)”…We got a good chuckle out of this one.

The other night at dinner we were having the 2 year old repeat things that  we were saying like Moo, quack, etc. when the 4 year old says “aunties favorite thing to say is “I’m on fire”.  We all laughed and the next thing we knew the 2 year old was walking around saying, “I’n fire, I’n fire, I’n fire”.

This Little Piggy

My 4 year old son was playing with my 4 month old son this morning.  I just happened to tune in to the cute little rhyme that the 4 year old was saying to the baby.  “This little piggy went dancing, this little piggy stayed home, this one jumped on the trampoline and this one went to another home and this one went wee, wee!”
Cute!
