The Window Guy

Well, the window in the kids room was broken, probably from some misdirected toy that was flung by one of them. We had someone come out to the house to fix it because it was the side that isn’t removable, so we couldn’t take it anywhere, not to mention that it was at an apartment on the 2nd floor. My son has been trying to figure out appropriate uses for different phrases, so when this man is hanging out of the window my son (who is sitting on my lap about 6 feet away from the window guy…still well within hearing distance) decides to test out a few of the phrases that he is trying to figure out.
”Auuu! He’s so cute!” I don’t respond. “Auuuu! He’s so nice.” To this one I responded with, “Yeah, he is really nice to fix our broken window.” So my son decides to try out another. “Auuuu! He’s so beautiful.” I almost lost it with that one, but managed to keep a straight face.
The window guy was great though. He just ignored my son and kept working…even through all the “Hey guy, your gonna fall on your head.”, “Hey guy! You gonna fall.”,and “Whatcha doin’?”-’s

All pretty.

My son was quiet …too quiet. It had been 5 minutes and I hadn’t heard a peep, so then I knew something was up. I’ve also learned through experience that when he is quiet, if I want to see what he is up to, I need to find him quietly, otherwise I will just discover it later. After searching the house top to bottom, I found him in my bathroom.
He had found my makeup. He was putting it on. Daddy had taken a weekend trip up to Utah and was coming back. He wanted to look “pretty” for dad. I honestly couldn’t find anywhere on his face that the makeup had made it to. (maybe he was coloring his arms or something). He sure beamed when dad noticed (after I’d told him the story, of course!)

take it outside…

Well, we are in the process of buying a house. It is a new build, so every Saturday we load up the kids and take a trip out to the house to see the progress. The house is set to be finished in about 6 days (yeah!) and we can move in starting in about 11 days (double yeah!!). About a week ago we were walking around and looking at things and one of the salesmen came out to talk to us for a minute. Just after shaking hands, my son comes running up and tells us (while grabbing himself, I might add) that he needs to go! …I said “Just one second, honey” and finished my sentence with the salesman, turned and he was gone. I figured it was one of the moments that he was just pretending like he had to go badly so he could get the reward.
…Then I spotted him in the backyard relieving himself on the fence. At least it was outside. LOL!!
