Laundry Day

The other day my son kindly informed me that it was time to do laundry.  He is completely potty trained now so when he was getting some underwear out of his drawer, he noticed that there were only 3 pairs left in there.  He came to me and asked, “Mom, where’s my panties?” I told him that they were dirty and in the laundry.  He then said, “Can you do laundry and get more undies in my drawer, PLEEEAAASE?”

So I gave in and did the laundry, mostly because we were all running out of clothes.  The next time that he went to get a new pair, he noticed that his drawer was full, came running to me and gave me a big hug and kiss and said, “Thanks for more underwear mom!”

Now if that’s not a reason to do laundry, I don’t know what is!

my feast

I just sat down to have a snack and then realized what foods I have compiled for this little “feast” before dinner.  2 pieces of fudge, a mini-pizza from lunch, half of a cheeseball and a package of ritz crackers.  To go along with my tasty treat, a bottle of water.

This is the first really weird food combo for me since I got pregnant….interesting…

Christmas Visitor

I heard the most wonderful idea the other day.  My cousin, Marne, has a tradition in her home that they call Mr. Peeps.  Here is what she has to say about it….

“Mr. Peeps is Santa’s helper that “shows up” the morning of Dec 1st.  He moves to a different spot every day, so when the kids wake up in the morning, they want to see where he is.  Mr. Peeps can be anything…the lady I got the idea from had a cute elf from a craft store. I found a cute penguin that I liked. It just needs to be something you don’t already have, so the kids haven’t seen it before. You tell the kids that they need to be good, because Mr. Peeps is watching, and he will tell Santa if they are not good.  Dec 25th when the kids wake up, Mr. Peeps is gone (so you have to remember to put him away). It worked pretty good for me, except for a few times when Logan [her younger son] said “Mr. Peeps can’t see me over here so I can do what I want.”  I still am glad I started that tradition.  When he first appeared at the beginning of Dec, Logan’s eyes were so wide….knowing Mr. Peeps was magic, that he moved on his own, etc.”

I’m going shopping for a Mr. Peeps now…but I’m glad I have 10 1/2 months to find the perfect one!
