Monsters- scared away
Filed Under Kids, laughter, parenting | Leave a Comment
I was reminded the other night by one of my kids of one of my fondest memories as a kid.
We were terrified that night. Monsters were coming out to get us. I’m sure it was simply because we were SO tired, but nevertheless, we were frightened. After coming down the stairs a hundred times, my parents were frustrated and a little desperate. My dad (LOVE him to death) decided to scare the monsters away. He came to the stairs and YELLED as loud as he could. It actually frightened me MORE than the monsters. I’d never heard dad that loud before. I started to cry (and laugh) because deep inside I knew that if I was scared, than the monsters were too. Dad told the monsters to “GET out or they would have to deal with HIM”. After a minute of hollering, he hugged and kissed us and sent us back to bed. We scampered up the stairs and fell right to sleep, knowing that all monsters were gone for good!
This moment of silliness has stayed with me since that day. I’m so grateful for a daddy who loved me enough to scare the monsters away. From that moment on, I knew that monsters would stay away as long as Dad was around AND that the boys better watch out too ;o)
Dr. Pepper break
Filed Under Kids, parenting | Leave a Comment
Don’t judge me too harshly. Lately, when the kids are driving me absolutely NUTS, I can take a little pleasure in a Dr. Pepper. I love it. After a few minutes I have the energy to deal with it all again (I’m sure its all due to the sugar and caffine) and Mom is MUCH happier.
So now my first thought when I’m feeling a little cranky is “I need a Dr. Pepper” which is a little sad. Today I tried to substitue it for some chocolate and a butterscotch bar. It worked for a little while, but soon enough the grumpies were back.
For now, I’m resisting the urge to go and purchase a stockpile of the stuff. We shall see how my willpower is doing tomorrow. ;o)
Wow, wow, wow!

Life has certainly been CRAZY lately. Baby E. has decided that she’s about to walk. Her favorite things to do are to climb the stairs and play in the toilet. (yuk!) I am constantly putting up the gate and closing the bathroom door, but no matter how hard I try, the other 3 don’t understand WHY mom freaks out so much!
Cookie got shots and her checkup for Kindergarten this next school year. She’s excited, but doesn’t understand the concept of “Summer break” so I’m sure there are tears coming soon!
Tater comes up with some of the cutest things to say. He announced that “Daddy is my BESTEST Buddy” the other day. Melted our hearts.
Superkid is a big softy. He puts on a tough face, but inside he has such a tender heart. He is excelling in school and at the top of his class. His teacher had to dust off some books that haven’t been used in a while since he was reading WAY above his grade level. He loves it.
Jefe is busy with school and now with Scouting. He constantly makes me fall in love with him and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
Me? I’m working my Story Time Felts business and continuing to work on my website, Time4Felt.com. I have moved up to #1 recruiter in the company and I’ve been #2 in sales most of months in 2010! It is rewarding to see my business flourishing. We’ve been working on a garden and even have our first strawberry growing ;o)
So that’s the quick update. One of my goals is to blog more regularly. Look for more posts coming soon!
Monsters

Apparently monsters have taken up permanent residence here at our house. The kids (especially Tater) is obsessed with them. I’ve finally started telling him that Daddy eats monsters. It makes him feel better except in the middle of the night. After about 3 weeks of struggling with these darn monsters, we finally went and bought nightlights.
Problem solved. I wish we would have made that purchase a long time ago!! We have had 3 nights of uninterrupted sleep! YEAH!!
Now if I could just figure out a solution to leg cramps and and nightmares I might actually get some sleep! In the meantime, I’ve started taking some prenatals. No, not cuz I’m prego, just because i’m sure I need some GOOD vitamins…surprisingly enough, I have more energy and I’ve been much more motivated to accomplish things and I feel happier! I guess they must be doing something!

Cookie had her first day of Preschool last week. She was begging to go since SuperKid started Kindergarten so we decided to find one locally and enroll her. She LOVES it and is learning so much already! She is such a smart girl and loves to go play and learn. My kids are growing up so fast!!

First Day of School
Filed Under Kids, love, parenting | Leave a Comment
Well, we survived. I admit that I was a little teary eyed as they marched off to class. Luckily it was outside and bright so my sunglasses saved me from looking like a dork. Ü
I think that another reason I was able to let go a little more easily is that we had a ROUGH day yesterday. Superkid destroyed the blinds in his room, put baby powder all over my room, was constantly fighting or teasing the other kids, and overall didn’t listen or obey. It was one of those days where you go to bed and wonder what happened! BUT we survived and now he’s in school.
Enjoy the pics!

We have the colic under control…
Filed Under Kids, food, love, parenting | 2 Comments
Well, as the title indicates, I think we have conqured the colic monster! Baby is irritated by milk and chocolate. She seems to do ok when I eat things that have milk in them, as long as its not homemade…so like granola bars are ok, but homemade pancakes are not…weird I know!
It is really difficult to avoid chocolate especially and I’m still getting the hang of what to eat for breakfast. I normally have oatmeal, cream of wheat or cold cereal…with milk, so that’s taken some adjusting.
I did find some wonderful carmel striped cookies that are saving my life right now! YUM!
We have also moved out of my in-laws!! We have been living there since March 1st while looking for a house. I will spare the boring/depressing details, but we are in a place now! It is a 3 bedroom townhome with a backyard. The kids LOVE it out there! I will post pictures when I find the camera in the mountains of boxes!
So life is good. Ü

Baby E. is now 22 days old. She is growing and I swear her face is getting a little fatter ;o)
The kids are loving her and enjoy holding her almost everyday. Tater comes up constantly and says “Hold it”. Its so cute!
The other kids enjoy looking at her and talking to her. Whenever she is sleeping they are terribly worried that she has disappeared. Ü
